Published in 1914, ‘The German War’ by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a collection of his essays on the subject of Germany and the growing threat he believed it posed. Written in the years just before the outbreak of WWI, many of his essays appear oddly prophetic today. A fascinating glimpse into the time-period, and a valuable insight into the mood and worries of the nation at the time.
