When Dexter realises he won’t be allowed to join the Resistance movement’s fight against the evil Evan Kostroff, he flees from Bear Island with his fact-babbling chimpanzee friend Thomas. They set off in a submarine towards Kostroff’s space base on Volcano Island, where Professor Ubu-Tutu is attempting to mass-produce invisibility belts. Thomas’s homesickness leads them to the jungles of Africa, and it becomes a race against time as Dexter is hunted from all sides.

Thus continues Dexter Olsson’s thrilling round-the-world adventure alongside talking animals and colourful friends. During Dexter’s action-packed journey, readers are treated to plenty of good laughs while learning facts about the world’s countries.

The Escape to Volcano Island is the second book in Michael Wiander’s hilariously mad and fact-packed adventure.
