”India in Mind: A Memoir” represents Frank Thompson’s reflections on his years spent in India – as a scholar and traveller with unequalled curiosity. It is a record of admiration and reverence – not only for the historical and contemporary artistic traditions of India, the philosophical strains from the Upanishads to Sri Aurobindo, but also of the profound and seething social complexity which often and inexplicably erupta in irrational turbulence.
